Culturing Solutions Launches First Algae to Biofuel Demonstration Plant in Florida

November 17th marks a milestone for Florida algal technology

Tampa, FL (November 7, 2011) – Tampa-based Culturing Solutions will host the Grand Opening of the first algae to biofuel demonstration plant in New Port Richey, Florida on November 17th. Using algae to produce products including transportation fuel, energy, nutritional products, cosmetics, medicine and other household items is a concept that is being revolutionized by the innovative company, Culturing Solutions. The initial trials of using technologies to harness the power of algae have been successful, but have been cost prohibitive to function in today’s marketplace.

Until now.

What differentiates Culturing Solutions’ application is their ability to capture carbon dioxide from industrial gasses and reuse them before they are delivered to the atmosphere. Culturing Solutions produces algae to create a variety of products by using waste gases emitted by industrial facilities to feed the algae. Their revolutionary process takes the by-product emission that would normally contribute to air pollution and climate change and recycles the harmful greenhouse gas to dramatically increase the growth rate of the algae.

Cogeneration, or the process of locating the algae facilities near power facilities, benefits both Culturing Solutions and the energy provider. These improved efficiencies can lead to the production of more power at a lower price for consumers with significantly less pollution — all while reducing the nation’s dependency on oil by producing clean, green transportation fuel and a myriad of other products available to the open market.

What could be more environmentally friendly than capturing environmental pollution and using it to create a product demanded by consumers? According to founder and CEO of Culturing Solutions, Dean Tsoupis, “Nothing. The use of a waste product in the form of carbon dioxide combined with Culturing Solutions’ algae process and our revolutionary pump technology increases algal growth a remarkable three hundred percent. Our goal is to maximize the production of algae for use as an alternative fuel source so that America can be less dependent on fossil fuels — now and into the future. It’s a big idea, and we’re up for the challenge.”

The grand opening for this groundbreaking demonstration process will be held on November 17th, 2011 at 9831 Mendel Drive, New Port Richey, FL 34654. Media are invited to attend this exciting event.

This is Culturing Solutions’ first demonstration plant in Florida. Their technologies are being used successfully in Florida, Rhode Island, Australia, Romania, Hungary, and Russia.

INTERESTING FACTS:

  • Culturing Solutions’ algae process presents a bona-fide solution to combat food scarcity, provides for the availability of a clean, renewable transportation fuel, and serves as a mechanism to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  • According to a 2011 Gallup survey, the availability and affordability of energy is the only issue about which Americans have grown significantly more worried since last year, up from 38% to 46%.
  • As our world population expands by 74 million people per year, the planet’s natural resources are being depleted at an unsustainable rate.
  • Global food scarcity has emerged as a humanitarian emergency. Current oil reserves may be exhausted in as little as 50 years.
  • The reliance and expansion of traditional energy sources continues to pollute our nation’s air and contributes to global climate change.

    Dear Sirs
    CULTURING SOLUTIONS INC,

WE introduce ourselves as Business Consultants out of Malaysia, but with excellent contacts with senior Government Authorities in Soth and East Asian nations, such as India, Fiji, Sri Lanka , Maldives, Indonesia,Malaysia, Cambodia and even Singapore. Currently we are involved in advisory serverces for the Government of Sri Lanka. As we are involved with Green technologies, we are involved currently with Solar , Hydro and Sludge Oils conversion. Since the Sri Lanka Government is prepared to offer several facilities for your purposes, such as raw materials and lands, and even tax exemption for investment done in Sri Lanka, we feel that it would be an excellent chioce that you will have made setting up an algae conversion into transportaion fuels as well as commercially viable ans salable products in this country.

If you can consider this, we shall appreciate fuller detaial of your development of algae. You can contact the writer at email: speedbird200@yahoo.com

Your algae lipids can be converted to biodiesel for about $0.26/gal. using the
Supercritical transesterification process developed by the chemical engineering department at Syracuse University. It is called the One-Step Process. 95 %
    efficient; virtually no unwanted glycol products; does to gel at 45 degrees F;
scalable. It is patented, still in lab, constitutes 18 years work by Dr. Larry
    Tavlardes, professor.
