Welcome to Algae News!

I launched this website in August 2010 so that there could be one place dedicated to the quickly growing algae industry (pun intended). On the homepage, you will find six different categories of algae related news. The top three contain links to articles found on AlgaeNews.com while the bottom three are links to articles I find on other websites each weekday. To give you a better idea of what you will find where, here is the breakdown:

In the “Commentary” section of the site, you will find algae related stories from various journalists and bloggers. These stories will either be originally posted on Algae News or cross posted on our site from its original source.

“Expert Opinion” articles can either be Q&A with industry leaders (CEO’s, scientists, etc.) or articles similar to those in commentary, except the author would be one of these experts.

The “Press Release” section is pretty self exclamatory and will consist of various releases from algae companies, research institutions, and other industry organizations.

Lastly, the three “News” sections will include links to articles on various news websites and blogs that discuss algae related topics sorted by company, industry, or research.

The goal of this website is to provide the most up to date information about the algae field. Therefore, if you would like to submit commentary, expert opinion, or a press release, please visit the “Contact” page and fill out all the appropriate information.

We recently added two new features on our website: Algae Talk and Algal Jobs. For videos covering different algae topics, check out Algae Talk. If you are looking for a place dedicated to jobs in the algae industry, look no further than Algal Jobs.
