About OriginOil, Inc. (OOIL)
OriginOil, Inc. is developing a breakthrough technology that will transform algae, the most promising source of renewable oil, into a true competitor to petroleum. Much of the world’s oil and gas is made up of ancient algae deposits. Today, our technology will produce “new oil” from algae, through a cost-effective, high-speed manufacturing process. This endless supply of new oil can be used for many products, such as diesel, gasoline, jet fuel, plastics and solvents, without the global warming effects of petroleum. Other oil-producing feedstock, such as corn and sugarcane, often destroy vital farmlands and rainforests, disrupt global food supplies and create new environmental problems. Our unique technology, based on algae, is targeted at fundamentally changing our source of oil without disrupting the environment or food supplies. Meetings held last week for their new venture called BARD-ABS (JV) Inc., successfully launched the project with phase-one funding and initial management team integration.

Mr. Richard Wilson, CEO and Founder of The Wilson Group and a long time CNN journalist (from 1986 to 2005) and science and technology reporter, was appointed Chief Executive Officer for the joint venture. Ground breaking for the new algae production plant is set for May 9, 2011 at a 200,000 square foot facility on Dixon Airline Road in Augusta, Georgia. BARD will develop the site to accommodate a 10-million gallon—expandable to 100 million gallons per year capacity of algae oil production. Plans are to begin implementing the first module of BARD’s proprietary algae production system on June 14, 2011. Mr. Wilson commented, “The BARD-ABS joint venture puts algae production on the fast-track toward commercial success, as an important part of America’s renewable energy future.”

According to Chuck Pardue, President of Algae Bioenergy Solutions (ABS) and the Chairman of this new JV, “This plant will provide feedstock for Green Valley Biofuels, LLC, a sister company of ABS, as well as valuable co-products targeted to the food, health, fish food industries in the Southeastern region of the U.S. For over three years, ABS considered numerous algae technology companies to be its partner to help meet our nation’s urgent need for a commercially viable renewable transportation fuel. Only BARD was able to certify their technology as commercially viable today.” Pardue added: “ABS is strategically aligned with Bard’s vision and impressed with its elegant solution to rapidly grow and process algae.”
